Privacy Policy — Racelytics

This Privacy Policy describes how Racelytics (“we”, “the app”) handles information when you use our application. It is provided in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, for users in the Netherlands, the Algemene verordening gegevensbescherming (AVG). By downloading or using the app, you agree to this policy.

Summary

No account is required to use Racelytics.
We do not collect, store, or transmit your race or driving telemetry for our own purposes. Telemetry you view or analyse stays on your device unless you choose to export or share it yourself (for example, using system share sheets or files you save locally).
We do not use the app to build a profile of you, to sell your personal data, or to use your telemetry for advertising or analytics tied to your identity beyond what is described in this policy.
In-app purchases and free trials are processed through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. We use RevenueCat to help manage subscriptions, entitlements, and purchase state. Apple and RevenueCat may process certain information needed to complete and validate purchases, as described below.

Categories of personal data

Depending on how you use the app, the following categories of personal data may be processed:

We do not intentionally collect special categories of data (e.g. health) beyond what is inherent in generic racing telemetry you keep locally.

Purposes and legal bases (GDPR Article 6)

We process personal data only where we have a legal basis under the GDPR:

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance them against your rights; you may object to processing based on legitimate interests as described in the section Your rights under the GDPR / AVG below.

Purchases, free trials, and subscriptions

Apple processes all payments and manages your relationship for In-App Purchases, trials, and refunds according to Apple’s terms and privacy policies.
RevenueCat acts as a processor (or sub-processor) to validate purchases, unlock features, and manage entitlements (including free trials), on our instructions and subject to our agreement with them. RevenueCat may receive limited technical and purchase-related information from Apple’s systems. How RevenueCat handles data is described in RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.

We do not receive your full payment card details; payment information is handled by Apple.

Data processed by Apple and third-party SDKs

Racelytics is distributed through Apple’s App Store. Apple may display app information and handle App Store–related requests (e.g. data access); how Apple handles personal data in those contexts is described in Apple’s privacy policies (we provide a link under Purchases, free trials, and subscriptions above).

When you use the app:

Apple may process data related to app installation, crashes, and usage in line with your device and App Store settings (e.g. analytics and diagnostics you have opted into at the system level). Apple acts as an independent controller for much of this processing; see the Apple privacy policies linked under Purchases, free trials, and subscriptions above.
RevenueCat may process identifiers and purchase events necessary to associate your device or purchase with the correct entitlement. We configure the app to minimise unnecessary data collection; further detail is in RevenueCat’s documentation, your version of their SDK, and the Purchases, free trials, and subscriptions section above.

Apple, App Store, and other Apple product names used in this policy are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

Retention

Purchase and entitlement records held by Apple or RevenueCat are retained according to their policies and as needed to evidence transactions and entitlements.
Support emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up legal or operational requirements, unless a longer period is required by law.
We do not maintain a copy of your on-device telemetry on our servers for normal app use.

International transfers

Apple and RevenueCat may process data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), such transfers are typically covered by appropriate safeguards under the GDPR (for example, Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission), as described in Apple’s and RevenueCat’s documentation. By using the app and purchases, you acknowledge that such transfers may occur.

Your rights under the GDPR / AVG

If the GDPR/AVG applies to our processing of your personal data, you have the right to:

Access — obtain confirmation as to whether we process your personal data and receive a copy.
Rectification — correct inaccurate data.
Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) — request deletion where applicable.
Restriction — request restriction of processing in certain cases.
Data portability — receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used format where technically feasible.
Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time (without affecting lawfulness before withdrawal).

To exercise these rights, contact us using the Contact details below. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the Netherlands, the supervisory authority is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP): www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

We will respond within one month of receiving your request, subject to any extension permitted by law.

Children’s privacy

Racelytics is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently processed such information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version in the same location (or replace the hosted page) and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy, except where applicable law requires additional steps.
